A recent AAAS Breed Behavior Study investigating whether a dog’s breed determines their personality sparked headlines like “They’re All Good Dogs, and It Has Nothing to Do With Their Breed,” - but is it really that simple? Dr. Jessica Hekman, a co-author of the study, weighs in.

Junior Scholarship Recipients for Companion Events Announced  

Seven exceptional students from seven states have been awarded an American Kennel Club Companion Events Junior Scholarship for 2022. This year $10,000 in scholarships were offered to high school and college students.

The Hamilton Dog Training club and member Mary O’Leary are pleased with the progression of the Therapy Dog Program at Miami University, which began in 2008. During stressful times such as Midterms and Finals, dogs are brought in to help students relieve stress.

Over 50 Title 1 schools have already signed up to receive books from the AKC’s Bailey’s Book Club program, which helps K-12 students in need by providing books about the human-canine bond to schools.
